Rome never lets its visitors down. In the busy and crowded city, one would find soundless statues that were once witness to a great history. Every thing there, including food, fashion and perfume, is made with art.

The Roman civilization had left clear impacts on the modern Rome. Zigzag and winding roads of the Roman legacy are some of its main features.

Before and after the reign of the Romans, Rome was called the “Eternal City”. The Romans added beauty and charm to the city. Up to now, their cultural landmarks have been standing with pride. Visitors can not but admire the culture-rich and busy city.

Even for Europeans, Rome is a different place. Some might see it as a hazard city because it has not been modernized. Consecutive governments believe that the Roman and traditional sites should be preserved. When compared to the metro network in other European countries, the underground railway is modest as Rome Municipality says the archeological sites would be damaged by underground works. However, the suburbs outside the old city are modern.Rome_Ruins

It is recommended to visit the most spectacular places in the world such as the Coliseum. It was built in 72 AC. This historical place hosted games that included fights to death between animals and gladiators or between gladiators themselves. After the games were over, big celebrations were held.

According to Roman myths, Rome will live as long as the Coliseum exists. Yet, if collapses, it would take Rome down with it. In fact, part of the Coliseum was actually destroyed by an earthquake in the Middle Ages. A number of Rome’s aristocrats used the remains in building palaces and castles.
