Allah the Lord

It is probably not surprising that throughout the world, most people believe in God, a Creator of all that is, Lord of all or a Supreme Being. According to the beliefs of their particular group the attributes of this Being will vary. In many cases the belief is in more than one god but belief in God exists. It is the minority of mankind that are atheists and do not believe in God the Creator of all, Lord of all or a Supreme Being.
It is our belief that all of mankind descend from Adam and Eve and genetically all of mankind carry some genetic traits that are common. We belief that Adam taught his wife and offspring to worship Allah alone in His Oneness.
It is mentioned in the Qur'aan that after creating Adam, Adam was shown all of his offspring and we were all asked by Allah, “Am I not your Lord?” “And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their offspring and made them bear witness asking “Am I not your Lord?” They said: Yes! We bear witness,” lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: “Verily we were not aware of this.” Qur'aan, Suratul A’araaf, verse 172.
This belief that Allah is our Lord has been placed in the souls of mankind from the very beginning of our existence and is therefore the norm for all of mankind to believe this. That Allah is our Lord and is One has been taught by all of the Prophets and Messengers of Allah including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, John and Jesus, (Peace be upon them all). And this includes of course the last Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad son of Abdullah (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon Him).
Each Prophet taught the same belief about the Lord of all the Worlds, Allah. However the day to day laws that were to be adhered to by the followers may have varied from Messenger to Messenger. But even this was to a very small degree when we compare what has come down to us from the teachings from the above mentioned Prophets and Messengers.
In an authentic hadeeth or statement from Rasulullah Muhammad son of Abdullah, (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon Him) It is reported that John (Peace be upon Him) gathered those that he was called to and ordered them to do five things. He said to them “The first is that you worship Allah alone and do not associate any with Him…” This was said by the Prophet and Messenger of Allah.
This is merely one example of the belief in the Oneness of God who is the Lord of all the worlds, known and unknown. I hope that our readers reflect on this simple but comprehensive fact and search their hearts where this belief resides, the belief that we all testified to a very long time ago.
